This sums it up perfectly Thanks, Xen.

I really had no serious complaints about the graphics or other such design calls -- though, to be fair, I never played Outcast, so I couldn't see the quality degradation you're talking about.

My only complaint was that the game was agonizingly boring, at least to me...

Yeah, the whole Mini mission thing was pretty crap, but bieng able to use a few extra force powers was handy, but I never used them, unless it was in multiplayer so who knows.

Jedi Outcast is a quite good game (or, at least it was a few months ago when i played it), I liked it and like it still. I didn't find Academy any worse than it. In fact, some aspects (different sabers, character customization, semi-linearity) are even better. I think it is a nice prelude to Kotor.

As far as I remember, you can turn off 3rd person view or switch to 1st after equipping saber, but apparently I am wrong or you would already discovered it.

The only real complaint I have is the plot and the forced "Jock (or what's his name) is your friend" way of thinking. I wish to gut the arrogant bastard.

You can use third person with any weapon except the saber.

It was only in Jedi:Outcast that you could be in 3rd person or first person with all the weapons.

You can also check out a review of the game Here
It seems that the game is just Battlefiels 1942 except in the starwars world, but there are heaps of different side you can choose from, like choosing the famous Clone wars battle.
