No. Psionics have that early psionic fire spell. They wouldn't waste a pick to get light.

The other area which comes to mind is Mt. Gigas, especially the "Unexplored Territory".

And as has been stated already, handly Fire realm trainer, and whilst Hypno Lure is more effective, is a better permanent "monster attractent" than having the party not bathe for a week!
