Clerks is definitely my favourite, I was introduced to it during uni by some fellow nerdy mates at a small cinema group. Back then I had a long hair, a long coat and a beard and my mates called me Bob. That was kind of ironic since I knew next to nothing about Kevin Smith going into the film. The humour was a breath of fresh air at the time - sometimes witty, sometimes puerile but always entertaining with references galore.
One of my buddies even had plans to make his own 'homage' to Clerks a few years ago...but yeah, those were the days.

Berserker! (power chord fill)

Worst? Well, I haven't seen Jersey Girl, but I tend to agree that Jay and Silent Bob Strike back wasn't quite up to scratch - it contains far less intellectualising in geekery, too many jokes about bodily functions and more slapstickery, so I was a bit disappointed.

Second favourite would probably be Chasing Amy. Made me rethink many common assumptions at the time.

I liked Clerks and Mallrats and Chasing Amy. I think I haven't seen anything but repeats from him since then.

interesting... I can see Dogma as a continuation of Chasing Amy, swapping relationships with people with relationships with God... never quite looked at it like that...

J and Silent Bob Strike Back... yeah, it's Jay and silent bob being J and Silent Bob

Jersey Girl... wasn't quite what it was marketted as, and probably would have been better if marketted a bit more closely to what it was. He also said early on it wasn't done for movie critics and they'd probably hate it, meh, I liked it, and didn't see much of his other work in it (other than some of the casting)

LMAO! To be honest, it really depends what mood I'm in. I really find all of his work (at least that I've seen, never saw Vulgar) great.

Vulgar isn't really a kevin smith movie, IIRC a friend of his directed it and he produced on it, although it does star Brian O'Halloran aka Dante Hicks/Gil Hicks/anchor attacked by angels in Dogma/etc.

I've no desire to see Vulgar, but I do want to see the Defending Dogma featurette on the DVD.
