That's not a serious problem either (answering no to the vamp quest) but the best solution for such things is SAVE OFTEN, SAVE EVEN MORE OFTEN! SAVE IN DIFFERENT SLOTS so you have multiple choices when you need to reload a game before you came upon a problem. I always keep at least 3 different save files going: 1) for the last time I was to town 2) for just outside a dungeon 3) for inside the dungeon when I'm sure everything is going as it should be. I will sometimes keep more than one save for inside a dungeon. I found that it saves a lot of grief and time to keep a number of saves! Hope you are happily on your way to getting the staff! Wyv |

Agree with Wyvern!
You never cannot save too often in W&W! Well, you can but... Usually I save before big fight, I've seen so many times my men turning into stone or getting killed in early game, and not gaing XP for killing that creature... In serpent temple I fight Xydusa, that big naga and just when I would kill her by seacond hit, she turned one of my men into stone and didn't have spell or potion stone to flesh... Fight last over half an hour, so I saved over 5 times during the fight...

The mystic Mantra, as passed down from generation to generation, is still as valid today as it was in the time of my forefathers.
Save early, save often, save before, and save after. Guaranteed to remove some problems from life.

for the record, I do save quite often. In this particular setting, I am trying to run through without saving but once an evening, using only two characters from a previous setting. my lizord monk and Feline assassin are now powerful enough to melee against the jungle lilies found in the Boogre Prison. this time around it's just the puzzles I'm trying to beat. No saves, editors, or strat maps. I'm running pre-patch with experienced chars and thier blessed weapons. Anyone wanna see? willing to trade, just to see what others are running.
