Sorry, LennonCook. I appreciate your replies but you are incorrect, according to my experiences. I play multiplayer frequently. I have Tactics installed (as well as TDD, EOU, Item Upgrade). I play with people who have and don't have the same mods, and people who have different combos of mods. It is not a problem unless you do the wrong thing.

Obviously, you cannot play a TDD map with someone who does not have TDD. They won't have the same area files. (ppl who don't have TDD will not see my TDD-made items and will not see TDD-spell effects --- or possibly they will see a different effect).

Tactics causes no problem in Multiplayer. I frequently host games for players who do not have Tactics installed. I also join games hosted by others: who do not have Tactics. When I host, if we went to Firkragg we would be fighting Tactics Firkragg. When someone else hosts (who does not have Tactics), if we go to Firkragg he is normal Firkragg no Tactics. All the while I have Tactics installed.

Just recently I took a bunch of new players on a quest to beat Tactics Saugin City. Of the 5 players, 3 had Tactics and 2 did not. We all played the battle, and after much replaying, we finally beat it.

Meet me online for a multiplayer game tonight. I will show you that what I say is true.

It's good advice to have the same install "bit-for-bit" as the other ppl, but this is NOT a game-ending requirement (it is a game-ender for some mods, but not for others - if you have a specific mod to ask about, post here). To prove this at the most basic level, you can have custom portrait files, that the other players don't have. If they don't have it installed, they will see a ?? portrait instead of your custom, while you will still see your own custom. It won't crash the game though.

Are you just guessing in your advice, based on your knowledge of how mods work? Or have you actually done this? I have. It works.

Um, I think I answered your problem, above. YOUR installation sounds fine. Per your 1st message, you had the correct install and correct patch (version 2.5.26498). It was the host/server (the person whose game you were trying to join) who had the incorrect install: that person needs to get the patch, .26498.

This is unquestionably the first problem with you not being able to join their game. Fix all the mods you want, it will not allow you to play until you get the same base installation as the host. Or per my suggestion: have the host get the same base installation as you (2.5.26498 = SOA + TOB + Patch... plus Baldurdash, in that order, installed before any other mods).

If you don't do this you will not be playing with that person online. I promise.
