Is it considered cheating to teleport from place to place as long as you're not in a battle?

But you people must've completely missed out on the delight you get when your character finally gets his hands on the Paws of the Cheetah in BG1
![]() I could never do something like using some cheat to teleport across the map just because walking is so tedious. Games are just like life in that they consist of both ups and downs, and for the best experience, both of them are needed. Because everything is relative, the ups wouldn't feel so great if there were no downs. Getting the Boots of Speed in BG1 would not've felt as great if my character hadn't moved so slowly to begin with. [ 02-26-2003, 07:38 AM: Message edited by: Rataxes ]

I wouldn't say teleporting is cheating, at least if there is no battle. But you could elude some fight or dialog (intentionally or no), so that would be cheating. Anyway, it is unrealistic.
I used to use Ctrl+J to be quicker, but soon noticed that I'm getting addicted to it - I couldn't walk ten meters, I would rather teleport. Now I set people's Movement Rate to 2. It is enough not to be aggravating.

![]() I can't recall that I ever saw Irenicus walk (only in Spellhold, disguised as a Cowled Wizard), or any other mage in BG II... everybody teleports away. (Dimension door okay okay... same thing) It is common knowledge that Wizards prefere teleportation above plain walking.. ![]()

Hahaha. Irenicus walks in the intro cutscene. I'd never forget that. I think he also walks in the elf-killing dream, and in the final battle.
And not walking is very good strategic strategy (poor vocabulary ![]()

The elf killing dream takes place when you go to dream anytime after you get out of Spellhold. It'll show Ellisime begging you to hurry and shows Irenicus killing off his people at the elven city.
