Would anyone be up to the task of making a rebalanced sorcerer mod for all of us who like to solo them?

Think about it, since their magic is innat they would have time to learn how to do non-mage like stuff. They could learn to shapechange or improve their thac0 or learn to become proficient in other weapons!! it would make sense and make soloing a bit more interesting. I would make this if I had any idea how tobut as i don't i am hoping will pick it up.

Umm...if there's one kit that doesn't need rebalancing, it's the sorcerer. Giving them any more power would just make the game more boring after you get time stop and HLA's.

While I agree the limitations placed on sorcerers are ridiculous I also agree that removing them makes them way over powered.

Maybe a rebalancing could focus on making sorcerers and their abilities reflect the original rules for sorcerers. Make spell selection random. Sorcerers don’t get any choice in what spells they get. That would certainly make using one epically a solo sorcerer more interesting.

Can't be done. The Sorcerer class is hardcoded, and can't be edited.

Non-Magic stuff is more or less just regular combat, and mages and sorcerers can't be proficient in other weapons because they lack the strength to use two-handed swords and battle axes. A solo mage, not a fighter-mage or so forth, uses his magic to defend himself, so chances are he's not going to be incredibly strong.

Nineth level spell Shapechange or fourth level spell Polymorph Self.

I like Sorcerers and Mages the way they are, then again I'm not into soloing

they lack the strength? so all mages/sorcs everywhere are 90 pound weaklings?
sorry, just having a long day. but I do like the idea of having the new spells be random, or atleast to some degree such as you can pick the school but not the particular spell.

I'm having fun with the image of somebody learning to shapechange:
