I've just been watching the Eurovision Song Contest (don't ask - it's something we do in Europe that we wish we didn't!), and found myself feeling more and more envious of the beautiful bodies of the young female singers: flat bellies, superb hips, lovely legs. Bodies able to wear tight leather hipster trousers... I was just SO green!
It's not that I want to look like that NOW - I don't want to be young again, it's so tiresome - but I want to HAVE LOOKED like that when I WAS young! Sigh. I was always the little fat girl with spectacles...

I can relate to what you're saying Fljotsdale. When I see those lovely bodies on tv, I look at myself and go, what happened.

What I really want is the knowledge I have now and the youth I had then....

When I see guys with beautyful girls, holding hands and looking happy, I feel a little evious, makes me wonder if I'll ever have that and why I'm bothering hoping I'll finaly meet the love of my life again, if should just find some other girl instead of waiting, maybe in vain. She lives in Argentina and is moving to England next winter, I hope to move there to... I could tell you a lot more but I bet I'm boring you guys already

LOL! But I don't want revenge, Caleb - they have done me no harm! I just want to have had a body like theirs when I was young - a body that could wear red leather hipsters and look fabulous instead of ridiculous, lol!

I am not really envious, Fljotsdale, because everytime I fell in love with a guy, he was definitely not 'the man all girls dream to go out with' ! Wits and humour, a sparkle in the eyes, did the trick for me. In fact, I even scared (yes, scared ! ) a couple of those, they couldn't figure what the hell I wanted from them !

That's quite some time ago, now I am safely married !

I never was the girl all men looked at first, but I am told I has some charm, and I pretty much interested the guys I was interested in, so I am quite OK with what I look like.

The song contest really sucked this year, i can´t believe they gave Germany more votes then us.
I really wanted to toss the television out of the window afterwerds.

They WERE pretty terrible, weren't they? But then, they usually are! My own preference was the Bosnia-Hertzegovina entry - mainly 'cos it was different!
And Netherlands was certainly no worse than the German entry. I could not BELIEVE Estonia got it with that song! Nor that Russia even got points! Ye gods! That lad looked tenpence short of a shilling!

I don't find myself envying what others possess...I conditioned myself long ago into not allowing that negative emotion to surface since I learned to be happy with all that I am and all that I have.
However whenever I would like a smile reciprocated from someone who could care less that I attempted to share a little happiness, I must admit I feel a tinge of regret. Not the same though is it?
