Stuck at the Very End of TOTSC and BG!!!!

I'm really hoping this isn't serious but...

I've been playing BG for months now and have had TOTSC installed with it from the start (bought 'em together you see).

Great game, of course, got all the way to the end and done every quest I've seen and heard of, all without cheating too, pretty chuffed with that, I am.

...except for a couple of things!

First off, that battle with that demon thing in Ulgoth's Beard in the cult's cellar, WAY too easy. Everyone seems to get caught up in a paralysis spell, the big monster included, with the exception of my Paladin and his ring of free action. So he kills everything. Takes ages, but hey. AND THEN NOTHING HAPPENS!! Have I some kind of wierd bug going on here that there's a patch for?? What are you supposed to get from killing this thing?? DON'T TELL ME I'VE BEEN ALL THAT WAY THROUGH DURLAG'S TOWER FOR NOTHING!!!!!! That dwarf in the pub is no help either.

If that wasn't enough, every time I go to meet Sarevok in the lost city under Baldur's Gate I get teleported back to poxy Ulgoth's Beard and told to do the expansion pack!! Already done (except for the above of course)! How do I get in there to kick his ass?

...so my boys are all tooled up and have nowhere to go. Is there something I can do other than replay the last 6 months of my gaming life??

Ahh, I see your problem.Even though I bought them together,I played BG through,then installed TOTSC.Dont know why.Everything has worked for me.

You do get something for beating the DemonKnight.But I dont know why it wont work for you.Have u all the latest patches to fix bugs?

I installed both together and played thru all the encounters before taking on Sarevok as well. I didn't have this problem. Have you installed the patches? Is your CD scratched? That might cause it to flake on you.

You can do this as a last resort:

After completing all of the encounters with the exception of the final battle with Sarevok, save your game and copy it into a temp folder. Uninstall the game totally. Once uninstalled, go back and delete anything left over in your game folder...cache files, etc. Then reinstall both games again as well as patches. Copy your saved game file from the temp folder back into the newly installed save game folder. Start the game and have it load your saved game. Theoretically, you should be able to finish out with the Sarevok encounter. If it does the same thing again, I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you to do then, but maybe talk to someone at Bioware.

I only got sn end sequence because that was the LAST of the TSOTSC quests I did. Have you completely finished off the Werewolf Island/Ice Isle quests?

Ha Ha! Victory is mine! So there was a patch for TOTSC afterall, and when you install it everything works just fine...

Remember that there are 3 (THREE) quests in the expansion and that you MUST complete them all to finish the game.
