It looks like my wife and I will finally be visting her best friend who lives in Paris (France, of course!).

We will be going to the usual places:
Eiffel Tower
Arc De Triumph
Notre Dame
The Louvre
The Catacombs Of Paris (and other places)

What I'd like to know is if anyone knows of any lesser known places to see, eat, etc. in Paris. We're not likely to go far outside the city, but all recommendations will be considered.

Thanx in advance!

Mark

Is it true that "swinging from the bells" is frowned upon?

There's a lot of top class museums in Paris...
You could easily pass a few days in the Louvre. The Thermes de Cluny is my favorite one, with its medieval glassworks and all.

Espace Salvador Dali...

Musée Auguste Rodin (the thinker, etc...). Set in a very nice house with sculptures in the garden. It's just beside a big park, so if your fed up eating stinky diesel all day long, go relax there.

Musée de l'institut du monde arabe, has very nice manuscripts and an exposition on the history of science in that part of the world.

Get a Museum and Monument Card so you can get in and out at will. It's valid for quite a lot of them:

Check the list of museums at:

Enjoy your trip, lucky one.

I can't give you any links, or suggest any places to go. I just wanted to be able to tell you before you go that I hope you and your wife have a most safe, as well as a most fantastic and memorable trip! We will miss you!!!
