Read above topic
(Spoilers for those not finished the game.) So, what aspect of either game, or series has driven you to the edge of insanity and caused you to play evil next round to vent your anger? Some of mine... -Noober in BG1 got a sword through his gut... -Neeber in BG2 just about got it if all the nobles weren't around... -eeeeeep Hakashear destroyed my Staff of Magi(reload) -Forgot wardstone on Asylum entrance and got entire party turned to stone...

The ridiculous cut scene movies that add NOTHING to the storyline and cause the game to crash to the desktop, or have me hit "EscEscEscEscEscEscEscEscEscEscEscEscEscEsc.." over and over again rapidly to try to get through them....AUUURRRGHHHHH!
Fortunately, Baldur's Gate 2 has a way to turn them off. BG1 doesn't. ![]() -Sazerac

In BG1 there were places that you enter and there is a movie, well they kept repeating the damn movie over and over non stop whenver I was in that area so i couldnt do the quests or anything, the game was screwed up, it didnt do it on the other saves though. AHHHHHHHH. But that was my evil party though

Sometimes Windows says that an error is detected, and leaves the screen blank. Dont know if this is BG2 or my comp, though.

God looking back now, Baldurs Gate 1 could be annoying . Hold on I hear you, yes it was a first and the best of it's kind back then so it had a few bugs - but were not talking grasshoppers, were talking Ankheg bugs. As I play Baldurs Gate 1 in comparison to the sequel it truly was an artifact!
My pet hates were: 1)The pointless and repetitive location movies! I agree with you all they really were tedious. 2)God that continuous and unbelievably annoying 'You must gather your party before venturing forth' dialogue that came in as you waited for your retarded wizard or cleric to find their way. 3) As above; The fact that there was almost ALWAYS a retarded character who decided they prefer to stand by a wall and admire the view instead of travelling with the rest of the party. 4)'You may not rest here, either find an inn or rest outside' that bugged me. 5)'Heya!' This covered 60 pc of the dialogue NPC's offered. 6)The constant 'Heya', 'Hello there' etc., i'd sit there doing nothing while NPC's said hello to themselves. But believe it or not I did enjoy the game for what it was because it was a first and basically at that time it was the best. It's been said again and again but really I think Baldurs Gate 2 is a terrific improvement and really speaks well for the titles.

Apart from the unskippable cut-scenes I'd have to say the recent problem of when a VERY small cut scene (Anoments knighthood cast getting into position). Noone moved. Noone said anything. No way of quitting without switching off the computer (Cntl Alt Del didn't work for me). And it happened over and over 'till I reinstalled the whole thing!

To get rid of the cutscenes in BG2, you have to go into the Baldur.ini file in the C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII_SoA folder and add a line under the [Program Options] area that says:
Disable Movies=1 then save the file and restart. Voila...no more annoying cut scenes, although the necessary chapter cut scenes still play (the ones with Irenicus and Imoen, et al). The "letter box" movie scenes that would crash my computer, including the ridiculous sleep scene and the daytime/nighttime scenes were all gone. BG1: worst thing was the respawn when you reload, so if you needed to quit to go somewhere or go to sleep and try again the next day, you were immediately swamped with monsters! It takes about a full hour to clear out an entire map area; what do they expect, for you not to sleep or have to run errands? Gheez! I can understand penalizing people for doing multiple reloads but there's a limit to just about everything. Of course, that could be used to your advantage as well if you were looking to rack up mondo XP...clear out a map area, save, reload, clear out the map area, save, reload,...until you were about to go bugnuts about it.
