I don`t like to admit incompetence, but I would appreciate a strategy to deal with these infernal level drains. I`m currently in the prison in Saradush dealing with the vampires and getting a lot of level drains. Aerie has Lesser Restoration memorized and can restore the drained levels, but she gets "fatigued" after each use of the spell, and it is impossible to find resting places down here, at least while there are vampires still to kill. How do you experts deal with the "fatigue" - so far all I can do is to keep rushing out of the prison and back to the tavern to sleep, but that seems a terrible waste of time. Any ideas ?

Cast Negative Plane Protection.
Get restoration from a temple.

There are also a couple of items that provide permanent negative plane protection, amulet of power and mace of disruption (+1, and +2) are the only ones that come to mind. While equipped with these items the character who equips them is immune to level drain. Also I think there's a paladin kit (undead hunter I think) who is immune to level drain.

Thanks for some splendid suggestions. The only one that is not registering is the hint about the pocket plane. I`m being very dense, but those bells are being stubbornly mute. Hint some more, oh Dragonsbane, hint some more !

Since you can't find any places to rest down in the dungeon, simply slip into your handy pocket plane to get a few hours of undisturbed shuteye. The Pocket Plane is incredibly useful in this capacity. I think that is what Calaethis was meaning by the pocket plane hint.

Just to add to what Big H and Leo are saying ... you get to the pocket plane through your special abilities button and select the golden face icon to activate the teleport back to the pocket plane.

ummmmmm... Aerie is a cleric/mage, you don't need her combat skills, she has no thief skills... fatigue does nothing more than lower luck, for a fighter this is bad, yes, but for a cleric/mage you can leave her fatigued the rest of the game and nothing bad will come of it... Are you telling me you actually rest every time a character becomes fatigued? I went through most of the game with my characters fatigued from haste... only when all the haste spells wore out did I rest. Haste more than makes up for the fatigue a character has... But to rest for one lousy cleric/mage... Ah well, my advice is memorize all the restorations you can, clear the whole dungeon of vampires, and THEN rest...
