First. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU BEAT THAT DAMN BLACK DRAGON (in the last chapter) without having to fight it.i have tryed talking to it with every character and i know there is a way to get him to take verything in your inventory but i have tryed that and it does not work.

Second (posible spoiler). i am way past this part but how do you save Viconia from being burnt by the mob of pesants?

on the viconia part no offense but (duuhhhh) click on her tells about what is going on. click again shes free. you then have to kil all the fanatics.

dragon there is no way just best way but almost always never able to do unless you do WK before getting that far, get a mage with incendiary cloud takes a while but does work.or if you do got TOB in there is no point cap on amn so you fighters get GWA 1 strong fighter with 2 consecutive GWA will take the dragon down no problem. that dragon is actually one of the easiest to beat.

You have to have a character with high Charisma to get the Dragon to take your stuff... and you also need to have some good stuff IIRC.... cause I tried dropping all my stuff in one game and he took all my money (which was about 40000gp) while in the other game I spent all my money so I had only a couple of hudred Gp left and he said he didnt like that deal... and since I was unarmed I got fried like toast

you could also try the known cheesy dragon tactics
cloudkill:
use wand of cloudkill and other area spells while out of sight - count his hitpoints - rush in with tanks before he starts to heal - distract - tadaa!
FoD: cast finger of death and hope for him to fall - it helps if you cast lower magic res./greater malison/doom simultaneously with other casters.

When did straight out charging him blindly become something no one does anymore? That's what I do... just because I play Baldur's Gate like I'd play AD&D, and you didn't know it was there... like you were just walking and whoah, what do you know, a dragon! And you don't have time to position everyone and do everything ahead of time... it gives a great challenge to the battle, and you have to have people move around a lot... but it isn't hard... dragons are nothing.

Well... Baldur's Gate II is seen from above, so you don't see very far. Seen from the character point of view you would see the Dragon from Very far away.

But I also like to charge the Dragons. The only thing I hate is the Damned Wing Buffet.

Me as well. Just that weird spell he casts which hurts you (bug like things), after I dispelled that, nothing was enough from him to hurt me bad.
