Hey everybody!
I've been away a few months now and I'd like to know what this Flame's mod is all about. Is it worth dusting off the old Wiz8 disc?

Click on "Mod News" from:

http://www.flamestryke.com/wizardry8...trykes_w8.html

I haven't played it yet myself, but as I understand it it primarily reworks items and item drops, adding items to make certain classes more useful than they were before, and I believe also making some previously unusable, unfindable, and import-only items available as well. Some highlights often discussed include more returning throwing weapons to make throwing Ninjas viable, items that let Gadgeteers and Bards create and use portals, and special staves usable by spellcasters.

unzip and drag the "database" into your Wiz-8's Data folder. Start a new game.

Have you read the FFMv4xInstallation.txt text file which is included in the FlameFinalMod-version4d.zip file? It provides instructions on how to install the mod.

The mod of the FlameStryke has a somewhat different feel for those who have played a thousand times. I think it's worth a try. Just got to gates of Arnika and leved up so haven't got very far. New weapons and armor, which help. New mix of critters and frequency to some extent, not sure how different the numbers and kinds will turn out to be. I had to give up my expectation it was just new goodies, I think she did more than that with the mod...will let you know as I find out. - Z. -

Edit: P.S. the instructions on mod install were accurate but was a struggle for me. Let me know if if you want more details about it, from a simpler perspective.
