I've just bought a new PC with an 800 mhz chip and plenty of RAM plus a 32 meg graphics card. Straight away I bought BGII, and upon running it set all the system bits and bobs to max. However when running BGII it keeps hanging and I have to reset my PC, which is pretty annoying. Anyone got any suggestions??? Hardware or software??? Cheers. RX

If you are talking about the fact that after a while (an hour or two) all movements suddenly are becoming very slow, this is a BG II memory bug problem, and briefly, you can do nothing about it except reboot.

I also have noticed, when helping a friend install BG2, that with his newer computer and setting all of the settings (PC speed, Video, Sound) to max, his system encountered more glitches than when we reset all of the settings back to normal (PC speed = average, . . .).
If you haven't already, you might also want to read the manual and readme files as they explain exactly what adjustments to make for specific video cards. |
