Just wanted to check if anyone else is playing this game. If you like the final fantasy series, you will definitely love this game. It's your basic square-blocked raster-grid on which your characters play. It's completely turn-based. There is a story, but it's really all about being the coolest clan in Ivalice. You dont get to walk around freely, which may seem restrictive at first, but as you progress, you wont even miss it. The start of the game is fun: small and very simple battles to get you familiar with the game, and then it quickly starts to get tedious and repetitive, until you reach another level and then the pace starts picking up. Battles are becoming more intensive and you start to appreciate all your successful tactics and moves. And then all of a sudden .... ZANG .... the clans wars start, there are over 50 weapons available in the stores, all of which you've encountered in the previous FF games, clan-rivals are swarming all over the place whom you must defeat, you start gaining levels, items and money at a great pace, there are SO many things going on, you're constantly tested through new and different battles, viewing new moves, classes abilities of which you have acquired only so few. You really get the idea of a nice world where lots of things are happening and you have only seen 15% of it, there are missions piling up, you're dispatching clan-members all over the place .......... but you know what the best part is? It's on the Gameboy Advance SP!!!!! I can play it anywhere, anytime! Ive this thing in my pocket 24/7, when on my way to school or whatever! I don't think many of you have a GBA, but I don't regret one second of buying that thing. FFTA completely rules!! ![]()

Well here's the deal: you'll be doing nothing but battles and battles, shopping, accepting missions (=battles or dispatch-battles) and rivaling other clans (=battles). You'll be doing those battles to become more powerful, to try to become the strongest clan and eventually defeat the final bossy. You'll be battling to buy more weapons, to get more missions and use those missions to get more EXP for all you clanmembers. If this and FF in general is your thing: you'll be missing out if you don't get it!

I've got it and been playing it for nearly 30 hours now. I love it; the laws are a nice way of making things a little more complex. I don't really like the way abilities are acquired (the original's was much better), as you can't always find the equipment to learn the abilities, or it's just weak stuff that you'd rather now use (I want to learn Double Swords, but I haven't even seen the weapon to learn it yet!).
It's a lot of fun. Right now, I'm leveling up and teaching new abilites to some of the new members of my clan so that they're up to par with my six main characters (at about level 12 right now). It's on the Game Boy Advance, Harkoliar. |

I'm atalking about the gameboy advance, but it's also out on PSX, although thats not the advance version. I believe Disgaea follows the same principal on the PS2, but that's not a FF game.
