This is the TV mini-series originally created by Steven King and Steven Spielberg for the big screen. The story became too large for a movie and King ended up selling the idea to ABC.

It's good, in the way you expect from SK, but it's moving a little too fast. I know that is strange to say about a 6 hour movie, but it's the feeling I get. Anyone else?

Moving too fast, or lurching confusedly?

This is an example of King's B material, when he runs on and on. You get where he's going, but it's a long, long trip. It's just not tight enough to maintain the drama/suspense.

It cries out for an editor to me. Maybe he could have gotten it down to, say, three hours?

Is that a TV adaptation of Madder Rose, or some new story?
Haven't seen it here, hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

I honestly feel like I wasted 6 hours of my time watching that show. Steven King movies always attract me, as did this one. But something was lacking major big time imo. Probably in the minority as far as opinions go, and it wouldn't be the first time that happened.

However, I still find about 80% of his movies worth watching. I'd name them all but someone might yell at me, *shudders* so I won't.

I don't know about 80%, but there are some very good ones, that's for sure.

On television, though, I only consider "It" and "The Shining" (although I think the Kubrick version was much better, if less closely tied to the novel) as worth the time. This latest one isn't even close.
