i really want to read the xanth books but i'm kind of daunted by the number of them. is there an order i need to read the books , chronological or otherwise?
they look like so much fun. but i dont think i'll ever find every single one in a store.

Read them in order...
"A Spell for Chameleon" (Magic of Xanth #1)
"The Source of Magic" (Magic of Xanth #2)
"Castle Roogna" (Magic of Xanth #3)

What are the bookstores like in Smyrna? Superstores, or just "mom and pop"s?
(I'm a bookstore FREAK !!!) These should be pretty easy to find....

It helps to read them in order, but IMO it doesn't really matter.

The order isn't necessary but it helps with certain stories; references and such. Some have a huge time difference in between, it just depends. Each book has a listing of all books before it in the series in order. You can use that as a reference.
