I'm just about to sweep into Chapter five by returning to Candlekeep, but just thought I'd bring up a couple of questions which occurred to me whilst re-exploring the sewers again.

What other quests require wandering around these nauseous depths?

There's the corpse hunting for Arkion (he only wants one, though I dragged two up for him...the heavy blighers!) where after the quest is done, in my game at any rate, he appears to have no more dialogue. I can't recall if I managed to get more out him and his apparent rivalry with Nemphre or not in previous games...

And then there's the odd little mission for Scar to investigate the disappearing people in the eastern part of town. I assumed that this quest would be completed by defeating the Ogre Mage with his carrion crawler minions since the dialogue seemed to overtly refer to people going missing. But after returning to Scar, he didn't acknowledge anything, said he'd ask someone else and moved onto the Iron Throne quest. Was there something else specifically one had to do to satisfy the sewers quest? Scar seems to nonchalantly more on to the Iron Throne issues.

I love the battle with the Kobold commandoes in the sewers...they fiercely mashed my humble party to ash the first time around! The leader's name...ahhh, rat rat rat....yip yip yip. (can't quite recall his name)

I'm enjoying the darker, more sinister decision making in the evil roleplaying of my party. Having the Duke refer to my party as 'criminals' was just too hilarious. Although, Safana is starting to complain. There hasn't been quite as much banter as I'd hoped, but hopefully I'll get some surprises later on.

spoilers:

well with scars quest you meet a group of adventurers (cant remember there names) (they consitst of an ogre or orgillon and some other things and jellies etc.) but anyway they tell you something about your past and you can either kill them or let them go; the choice is yours> Beside them is a hole heap of statues in the walls where u get gems etc. Keep all these and then return to Scar, you will see what happens

Scar is somewhat absentminded; as soon as you express more interest in the Iron Throne than wandering around in the sewers, or if you speak to Duke Eltan, Scar immediately forgets about his sidequests and pushes you directly on to the Main Plot--and judging from your post, he can even do this while you've still got a quest up in the air.

And is this is a bug or was it designed this way?

Well, since Scar only gets the "tunnel-vision" about the Iron Throne quests after you say that you'd rather investigate the Iron Throne, I'd say he was simply designed to take you at your word. The fact that he can forget about his sidequests when you're still in the middle of one, however (if it is indeed a fact), would be a simple oversight--or, in other terms, a bug.
