Reading through the other Oakenmir thread, Mammawlin suggested that it would have been nice if there could have been a quest involving Oakenmir where your reward was some of his fine old wood from which you could make a special bow. Aside from his telling you much that ties the storyline together, that would have been a fun quest!

Any one care to think up some other possible QUESTS involving NPCs such as Oakenmir??

Or maybe perhaps alternate endings to existing quests - such as being able to return to Torin and finally put his mind at ease, or curing the other cursed Boogres.

How about Ezrebette, Maybe we could take her a worgul pup and she can save it and make a companion and protector out of it and she could heal us every time we see her (or something like that). She seems so lonely in that firepoof hut all by herself.

And who is that other lady we meet up with in the woods outside the mill or somewhere around there??? I don't even remember her name, and don't think she was good for anything except to tell us where to go??? Somebody give her something to do, Please!

And the Oracles, I thought sure they would want to see us again for some reason???

Let me hush!! Anyone, anyone???

the girl by the windmill gives you some Naga agent that sleeps the Naga until you hit it again. you have to give her her old lovers necklace to get the potion. if you have a good pickpocket you can give her then necklace many times and get a new bottle of Naga elixer each time.

As for the Big Oaky, i think the game should have offered an evil as well as a noble path. the endgame for evil would be a fight with Big Oaky and Kerah.

or Oaky could require you to find Mrs. Oaky, and persuade her to return. She would then require a long lost (insert quest item here) and upon completion you recieve Oak Draught which could grant wishes including my wish to slay that stupid blue Genie.

Like the Ents in "Lord of the Rings" who had lost their Entwives? That's a clever idea, Slug.

Mammawlin: as far as Kerielle (the millhouse lady) goes, remember that I led Gorthius over to her to keep her company on those cold nights Made for a good Gael Serran Examiner!

Ok
Oakenmir tells you that he is stuck in an area where the soil is no longer fertile, after 3000 years he has stripped the area of nutrients.
He believes that his old pal erathsmedor knows how to produce a magical formula that will give nutrition to the soil, he sends you to find it.
When u get it and bring it back to him, he laughs and tells you you are fools! He is really an evil spirit trapped in tree form and the potion will free him.
HAHAHAHA!
He then morphs into spectre form and attacks and you destroy him.
When you go back to erathsmedor and ask him about it, he attacks you so you get to kill the dragon as well.

Hmm, spot the evil, statistic and number obsessed power gamer (two posts up). Not that I have anything against the Irish (it's the Americans and the Dutch that I don't particularly like) but it's evil minded biggots like that that really ticked me off. I was going to suggest something in the traditional story way such as the roots of the tree are cut off from the natural water deep within the earth (that's why he's jumping up and down with rage). The problem is that his deep roots have been recently excavated by unpleasant monsters and a treasure chest is blocking his access to sustainance.Any attempt to open the chest will cause the wicked ones to return, spy the would be thieves/liberators and attack. Upon their death the chest could be opened.Oakenmir would sing a song for the party that would bestow upon each member a racial trait that they couldn't normally get (like a Gourk with War Cry for instance) as a reward.

Um...Balgin, I think FanPyre was making a joke. Actually, I think his scenario is rather funny; at least, it would give justification for NPC-acide!

I may be stepping into Wyvern's role here (apologies, Wyvern, and you can slap me for it if so), but please, please, be careful about jumping to conclusions. People here do have feelings.

BTW, I do happen to be an American, as does Wyvern and many others, and Carg is from the Netherlands...I do hope that other comment you made was a joke as well.

Ezrebette....I'm afraid I find this woman rather point less, on my second time through the game I lost the scroll she gave me to post at dragon spire, so it was never posted and this fact didnt alter the game in any way. Plus she goes rambling on about how her house is made of stone and it won't burn, well im sporry but it is blantantly obvious from looking at the house that it is actually made of logs. Logs as far as I know are wood and burn. Frankly I think shes juts a red hering in the game.

Now on to old Oaky and a quest. May be there could be a quest to find what happened to the last other tree like Oaky (i.e super tree) and the answer could be found by going back to Ezrebette's house because in fact her house is made of an old type tree long extinct in the Gael Seran... known as the stone trees. This would explain why Ezrebette's house won't burn but looks like logs. On returning to old Oaky your reward would be, not another trait or lamp or weapon but a magic book obviously a stone magic spell as Oaky (in this version anyways) is a stone tree of old. Magic spells that could be accured for this quest could be boulder storm (boulder size rocks from the sky, would have to be the strongest of the storm spells though) although this would be like meteor storm...so everyone think of some possible new stone spells.

Balgin!
Who are you calling an evil minded bigot?
Your post reveals your own narrow minded intolerance, You have to bring race into it! God what is the world coming to? If you have to be a fanatic why not be a fanatic for a good cause? Like banning landmines? Or eliminating worldwide poverty Or saving endangered animal species?. You mention im Irish, damn right and proud of it too, so what? What has race got to do with it? FanPyre thinks you got some serious issues my friend, maybe you should see if the magic shoppe can sell you a sense of humour and proportion which i feel in you are sadly lacking.
