I recently started playing Icewind Dale (it's cool), but I'm interested in importing characters from a previous game to the one I'm doing now. It says that you can import them in single player, but I'm still too new with using all the features. Could someone clue me in?
I'm also curious about A1 feature. Does that allow the characters to run about on their own in battles, because if it is, the computer is pretty stupid. Unless I command them continually, my fighter sometimes just sit there which is quite annoying.
Still working out the bugs (in my brain) about a cool game, Thanks, Micalon

Greetings adventurer,

Well, it all depends which game are ye talkin' about. Ye can only import IWD Characters in IWD or HoW games. BG or PT characters cannot be imported into IWD interface.

And the AI feature is basically an easier way ye lads be fightin'. When AI is turned on, ye lads will automatically attack the next enemy after their finished their first. So its just an easier way to control 'em.

Good luck on your adventures! Welcome to Iron Works, Farewell.

One more thing matey , if ye wish to import IWD characters into IWD then simply open ye IWD Directory and put the characters in the Character folder. Then start 'Create Game', Create Character and Import a Character that ye put in the Directory Character folder. Have fun mate!
