If there are any veterans still on this board, then as you will know I used to live on this part...
And after completing BG1+TOTSC along time ago, I have decided to replay it. So "the fountain of all knowledge" will be hangin round here a lot again.

I'm a BG veteran myself, though not of this particular board. I'm playing final runthrough of BG/Tales with Dark Side installed and then I'll likely put BG aside until NWN comes out. Although now I'm finding that I kind of want to try playing an evil party also just once before I quit, lol!
Anyway, welcome back Greatest (and Most Humble) One!

I've been contemplating a return to the Sword Coast after a long absence
Anyone know about the Darkside? I've downloaded it and am considering trying it next time through.

Dark Side gives you some really great new spells (up to level 9), weapons, armor, and magical items. It has some great items for paladins, especially. The five new quests are fair-to-good, although not nearly as sophisticated as Durlag's Tower as the blurb on the DSotSC site boasts. About the new NPCs I have nothing to report because I'm playing my own custom party of 4 paladins, mage, and cleric-thief. DS is a bit buggy (I've had frequent crashes when monsters approach the party upon enetering a new map), but the new spells and items make it well worth it as far as I'm concerned. You have to start a brand new game to use DS. I would say definitely try the game with DS installed. Enjoy!

You can get it from http://www.dsotsc.com. The DS forum is at http://teambg.db-forge.com/cgi-bin/f...board=general.
Addendum: hmm, for some reason the first link is coming up 'file not found'. Just open the forum link and click 'Main Page' on the left menu bar.
