Athkatla attacks me.

Hey,

I finished performing one of Edwin's quests in the Mae'Var quest. I just finished off the cowled wizard, and before moving onto the scroll he wanted me to steal, i went off to claim Nalia's keep from the trolls.

Upon entering the docks again I read a emote that says something like "obviously your misdeeds have reached the gov't authorities" something along those lines. This was followed by guards popping up w/ 1 wizard and demolishing my group.

Thing is, I dont recall anything that might've prompted this except for carrying out Edwin's quests (the necklace from temple district - which is mae'var's and murdering the cowled wizard). I also remember attacking the thief with the black lotus petals at the city gates which prompted the guards to attack me, but then i just reverted back to an earlier saved game. I saved right before i atacked the thief with the black lotus.

Could this be a bug?

I looked back in my journal to see if i did anything, and i didnt. However, I did notice that my journal did not specify whether or not i completed edwin's first assignment, it went right on to say that he "assigned me a second task". Does anyone else have their journal specifically denote whether they complted the cowled wizard task?

Thanks for reading this long post =). I feel my group is pretty legit and I'd like to correct this somehow. Does anyone know how I can go about doing this? Thanks.

Basically, I want the guards and the wizard to stop attacking me. So far in my experience, they appeared when I journey'd from de'arnise to the docks district, slums and waukeens prom. An emote first appears saying something along the lines of "the gov't has been notified of your misdeeds". Thanks.

PS:My groups reputation is at 13 and I also tried stripping my whole party in case they might have been equipping something illegal.

What you describe usually is the consequence of very low reputation (4-5 or lower)
Have you by any chance killed a civilian? This can make your rep drop by 10 in no time. Just reload and check your reputation. Don't attack commoners or guards even if they are hostile (red circle).
Did you attack anyone at the temple? You should just sneak in and steal the necklace, without leaving a body trail

Your group's at reputation 13? Then this has to be bug.. Are you fully patched and fixpacked?

Question 1: Has your party been to the Windspear Hills at all? Depending on your actions there, that can result in greeted by a "welcoming committee" similar to the one you describe, upon returning to Athkatla.

Question 2: Have you stolen anything from the home of an innocent? Let's take this sample scenario:
1) You enter a home
2) The resident, a Commoner, wonders who the heck you are and what you think you're doing
3) You proceed to open up the chests in the Commoner's house, just to see if there's anything good
4) The Commoner, quite understandably, calls the city guard on your ass.
Now, normally something like this would happen inside the home, not out on the street, but I suppose anything's possible.

Yes, I did go to Windspear Hills... Could it be those illusioned paladins I killed? That seems possible now that I think about it. I also returned the acorns to the Dryads.

Did you complete the Windspear quest? If not, I think Six has hit the nail on the head.
