How does one balances a Custom Party?

How does one balances a custom party? They all need good stats(but not 18 in all) becuase there is no use in those niffty items to power-up your stats.

So how would/did you balance it?

Not sure if this is exactly what you mean, but I always start with covering the basics. Like, I always start with atleast one tank, one wizard and one priest. Usually also one rogue. Then I just add other characters just for fun, if I do decide to have more than three or four characters.
As for stats, I just roll and balance them as if I was only making one character. So it very might be that if I decide to have two fighters, they will end up with the same stats. Ofcourse, I don't necessarily try to get as high roll as possible. It really depends on the character. [img]smile.gif[/img]

No I didn`t mean like that. I know you always need to have your basics coverd.
1 or 2 Tanks,1 Healer,1 Mage,1 Thief...
I mean about stats. How do you roll them if you include the itmes in the game that can give bonus to your stats,so you don`t ahve to roll godly stats?

When I roll stats, I always try to forget about the items I know of that increases stats. I roll as if my character would go through the whole game with just a regular armor and weapon. Can make the character overpowered sometimes, but that's just plain awesome.

The only stat I intentionally lower sometimes, is Charisma, because of the Ring of Human Influence.
