firetooth +4 crossbow bug

lol, I just bought the firetooth +4 crossbow and tried using it with bolts of lightning. An interesting effect as it seems to launch both the +2 firearrows AND the bolts of lightning at the same time

. This is a bug right?

Never heard of it before but I don't think it should do that so yes it may be a bug.
Also notice that the equipment you're talking about is part of the ToB expansion (even if you're playing WK in SoA) and you should take questions about it to the ToB board for two reasons.
1.)You may spoil people on this board who do not have ToB (not a biggie though with the crossbow)
2.)You may not get proper responses here as not all people have ToB (and be assured that most who have also frequent the ToB forum)

Are you sure? I know that the Firetooth does +2 fire damage by itself.

yes I forgot, should have posted it in ToB forum. About the +2 firedamage it's not all. It deals 4 different damages wich is 2 for the bolts of electricity and 2 for the fire bolts. Hmmmmm, imagine it with improved haste... 4 times the normal attacks per round

It's a well known exploit. Works with the Geasen Shortbow, too. [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]

I've always looked on Firetooth & Gesen not as firing their own arrows, but adding their Fire or Electrical damage to whatever ammunition you happen to be using. (Much in the way that the Heay Crossbow of Searing "Sprays oil on the bolt, and sets it alight as it is fired.") If this were an actual bug, you'd think BioWare would have corrected Gesen, or at least not duplicated it with Firetooth.

From the Firetooth +4 description: "Firetooth has no need for ammunition as it automatically launches magical arrows of fire."

Doesn't seem like they're "adding" something to anything - more like creating their own. In light of this, I would safely consider this a bug. Chalk one up for BioWare's laziness (or, in case it's somehow hard-coded, bad planning ahead).
