I just bid on ToSC on Ebay and realized that the manual was not with what the seller was offering. THe CD is supposedly still wrapped, but it's just the CD. Is there anywhere that the manual is available in PDF format? Are there significant differences b/t ToSC and the original about which I even need the manual?

Not overly. The differences are marginal. Some rules changes about hotkeys, missile weapon speeds etc. Nothing that you cannot live without. The one thing that you'll look at more than any other is the new spells for Mages/Priests. Of course you won't need to worry about them until they're available for buying or using, in which case you can right-click and find out about them anyway. So don't worry.

I doubt you will need the manual at all, as Lord Brass says. I find BG and TOTSC very similar. As long as you know the rules of BG you should be fine
