solo cleric help

I don't know how to link or I would, but there's a thread currently up named something like "The hardest solo" and the discussion has turned to clerics. I remember reading somewhere on the forum that Clerics of Talos (I think that's the one with the insane lightening spell) are extremely powerful, and this whole thing has peeked my interest. So here's what I'm debating doing:

Starting a Cleric of Talos and

A) using a male cleric soloing the whole game (I've never solo'd before)
B) using a male cleric who romances Viccy and travels only with her
C) using a female cleric who romances Kelsey and traveling with only him
D) soloing all the way up to the point I can romance Sol
E) following one of the first two romances thru and THEN recruiting Sol and watching the sparks fly, keeping both in the party till game's end.

Sooooooo, since I've never even played a cleric PC I need some advice. I know some alignments may not work out too well with the romances and schtuff, but what would be a good first PC cleric combo of those options, what race should I take to allow the romances, and what proficiencies to allow me to wreck anything that gets in my way, or at least give it some good lumps?

Look for my post Stormlord of Talos or something like that. He took Viccy along. Most everything died in that game, he was a mass murderer with around 2000 kills to his name. Fitting for a Herald of Destruction and a Child of Bhaal.

It was, to say the least, FUN to cut lose and just kill them all and let nobody sort them out.

Thanks for the tip Butterfingers... tho that thread quickly turned into a debate rather than a discussion, I picked up a lot of neat ideas and tips. You also made me miss the PnP days a little more than I already was. And yes, clerics outside of computer gaming are indeed fun and powerful to play... especially if you allow the Oriental Adventures manual into play and have a pushover for a DM who allows you to mix and match races and classes. [img]smile.gif[/img] Rule bending isn't the same as cheating, after all. DM said I could!
