Forgive my dubiousness. Any number of alternatives to the income tax would be nice, but a pipe dream is a pipe dream. Our gov't loves the income tax, and it's nigh impossible to change something that's so embedded in our structure.

I don't see income tax going anywhere anytime soon.
Don't get me wrong, if it means I wouldn't have to fill out irritating paper work year after year, I'd love for it to go away and be replaced by a simpler system.
