So, today I found out you can no longer submit a bug report anonymously. You have to sign in to submit one. Oh, and word for word here is the bug report.
You can make a spell to add to a coin slot, as in in the spell editor, using the "Edit Affected Attribute" window, the $CHAR_COINAMOUNTx (x = a number from 1 to 10) and a diceplus field like "+1d4*(level*10)" or even +10. BUT, you cannot make a spell to TAKE AWAY from a coin slot (and yet using the same window, you can take away from HitPoints just fine). Even using all the same steps as above but putting a negative diceplus field does NOT take away from this field, nor does putting just -10 take any away from a coinslot. SilentThief ps, I was hoping to surprise everyone with this, but if the ability to take away from the coinslots were useable, then you could make a coinslot into a food slot, and another into water. It would make a use for the spells like "Create Water". and the realism of not running thru 4 years of (in game) play without having to ever buy one meal...

I thought you could log into SourceForge now...didn't you just mention that?
It's not an error that you have to be registered to report bugs, that is intentional. And no offense, but I'm not sure it's a bug. CocoaSpud never intended for money to be handled through spells, but through events. So, I guess it's more of a bug that you can give money with the spell. Bug, I digress. Would you mind posting both spells so I can take a look at them? I've had similar issues with other CHAR attributes and I was able to resolve all of them by tweaking the way in which the target was referred to. I would say as a general rule, about 90% of the reported bugs for spells have turned out to be errors in the script, mostly due to lack of documentation that clearly explains the way to do it. |

As for SourceForge (sorry about not explaining properly), I have never signed on. I just opened the page and submitted (in the past) anonymously. For a while everytime I went to the SourceForge page I couldn't even open the page, and it closed out ALL IE pages, saying it encountered a problem. Now I can go to the page and read them just fine. I can sign up as a new member, not a problem; and I will today.
As for the spells:Ok, I will post them here. I think it was not 100% implemented, as it wasn't meant to be used in spells (as you said). I do accept that it is possible that I made a mistake (can't rule it out, I guess; since it happens all the time ![]() ![]() ST ps, post a copy of the spell, or give you attachment spell text file?

I do want the spell text file, but just for the two spells.
![]() As for the errors in spells, that 90% I mentioned includes the ones written by CocoaSpud, which is kind of ironic. One of the bug problems is that if there is a special ability that does a thing and then there is a script that calls for it, it doesn't seem to work, but if you don't use a script and instead call on the special ability (this is the way CocoaSpud intended) it does work. That was the problem with the sleep spell for example. I guess it may be that CS wrote a lot of the spells and then added the special abilities... |

Ok, here you go. Just so you understand, I started out making a spell list from my own spells and some from the 2nd edition PHB spell list (and didn't get far). I deleted all the spells and started over so its not a large list.
ST the spells I was referring to are create/destroy water, and they are set up to add 10 or take 10 away from the coinslot (as a test)

Do either one of them work? It seems that neither should based off the targeting info. DC is kind of finicky. Since they are 'select by count' with a range of 0, it seems logical to you and I that they should only be used on the caster, but DC would rather you used a target of 'Self'.
Anyways, in my limited testing - after changing target to self and allowing it to be memorized by PCs, I can safely say that neither one of them work correctly. ![]() ![]() |

You can add to coin slots via spell, but cannot take away, and you can do it to someone other than self. I did double check to make sure "friendly fire OK" was allowed, cuz that would muck up the results.

To show you how the add spell is broken, cast four times on the same target - instead of 40 units, I was getting 150. I tried this on two separate computers to make sure it wasn't a bleed problem on the first. The take spell was actually taking away 10 before adding some new amount. If you want to get a better idea of the number sequence, cast add 4 times on the same target and then cast take 4 times on the same target and you should end up with a couple of thousand and some.
![]() That's why I said they were both broken. I would think that it would be easier to do this kind of thing through utility and logic block events in the step event. DC would check every step on the current time and when it's a new day subtract one from each member of the party. The problem with using a coin slot is that you can not buy food in a store, you have to "fake" it with a a who pays event. |

You cannot "buy" a coinslot, but with quests and give treasure (silently to active char), you could give food that you buy. But there might be a better way to do food. I just thought since it allows you to modify these, it should modify them properly.
