T'rang Alliance with Umpani - help needed !

Hi everyone,

I'm stuck here at Umpani trying to complete the T'rang alliance. I've Zant's alliance note and tracking device with me, I believe all I need to do is give these to General Yamir. But something's very wrong cos all Yamir says when I try to give him those items is "I wouldn't want to take that from you". Its really puzzling me and Drodan is no help either, he doesn't say a word when we're there. And when I try to dismiss him (or Drazic), he keeps babbling about the alliance mission. Did I miss anything here ?
Someone please help !

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but have you tried just talking to Yamir?

Yes... I have, but he just says something like "not wanting to have a discussion right now". Oh, and he appears as a yellow dot on the radar, which is weird. Any clue ?

Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in....

I bet a nickle that you should just have to talk to him. The fact that he's yellow might be important, though, because maybe he needs to be friendly to have the discussion. My advice would be to try charming him and then "friendly" him to see if he warms up to you, but that's not based on any real information on my part.

If it helps, the alliance seems pretty optional to me. You'd miss some experience and a good movie if you didn't get through this, but I didn't notice the plot move after that like I thought it would.

this is a bit of a a shot in the dark based on a walkthrough i saw on some other site:

does your party have (and is carrying) at least 2 of the 3 principle artifacts? if not, the quest won't work supposedly.

also, have you completed the sgt kunar mini-quest? i don't know for sure but you may have to complete that. if you haven't done it then try that.

oh, one more thing. yamir won't take the tracking device cos you need that to complete the remainder of that mission on mt gigas peak

Thanks everyone, I tried charming him (a zillion times) but he seems unaffected. And yes, I also have the three items [img]smile.gif[/img] Was going to give up and start attacking when I decided to use bribery [img]smile.gif[/img] Started by giving him items which I didn't really care for, at first he kept refusing saying that good soldiers dun take bribes then when I gave some better stuff (dust of deflection or something), he immediately changed! SO, I managed to complete the alliance quest phew !!!

But I have another problem though...... will put that up as a new post.
