Patches for IWD and IWD/HOW

Patching IWD/HOW

Since we’ve had another group of folks looking for patches for their games, it seemed like a good idea to make the information a bit easier to find.

First determine which version of the game you have:

Go to windows explorer. Find the main directory where IWD is installed. Search for a file called IDMain.exe and right click on the name. In the pull down menu, select "properties" and then in the window that opens up, select Version.

Here's how it breaks down:

V1.4.2 = IWD + HOW + TOL

V1.4.1 = IWD + HOW + HOW Patch
V1.4.0 = IWD + HOW

V1.0.6 = IWD + Latest IWD patch

Anything BEFORE V1.0.6 means that you should download the latest patch and install it. It also means that you do NOT have HOW installed! * Thanks to Micah Foehammer for the above information.

Second, find and install the patch you need:

For IWD without HOW the latest patch is v.1.06. It can be downloaded here.
2. The free expansion TOL acts as a more recent patch. It is a very large download, but is a cool dungeon crawl as well as being a patch. It can be downloaded NOTE to Mac users: The information given above is for the PC version of the game. There is a Macintosh version of IWD that has been released and there is a patch for that version to address compatibilty issues with OS X 10.2. The patch is a available here.

I am not sure whether or not HOW has been released in a MAC specific version yet. Can anyone clue us in on this?

It should be released for mac, seeing as IWII is coming for mac in about a month!
