Actually, there was about 10 dead soldiers, and 5 prisoners, including one female.

Donald Rumsfeld didn't want to comment on it. He said that it was part of the Iraqian propaganda to show these images, and he had no intention to respond to them. O_o

If I was an american soldier right now, I would not be very happy to hear that. Apparently, caring about prisoners don't seem to be that important to him.

CNN just showed 2 dead american bodies on their telecast I think it was in very poor taste and they should not be allowed to show pictures of our soldiers in this manner.Shame on you CNN !!!

Should they only show 'good' pictures? - every other news station is showing these pictures.

I find it ironical that Rumsfeld is complaining that the prisoners are interviewed and photographed, while at the same time I can see pictures of Iraqi prisoners.

The US media is subjected to strict rules about showing POWs. They cannot single them out, and are not suppose to clearly show their faces. You will not see them interviewed, or forced to say things against Iraq.

I haven't seen any pictures of dead Iraqis either.

Death is part of war, but CNN did not show the video of the dead, they only showed one picture in which the dead had no identifiable features visible.

The Iraqis have captured several coalition soldiers and video taped 4 of them being interviewed. Iraqi TV has been running the footage, and Al-Jazeera has also been carrying the video, but American networks are not showing the video (at least) until the military can notify the families.

They have also showed a picture of dead US soldiers. Some on the video, we are told, were quite obviously shot in the forehead.

Using the images of POWs is against the Geneva Convention (the official language is that they are to be protected from "public curiosity"), as is the use of human shields, but both methods have already been employed by Saddam.

Just got through watching on Russian TV the full broadcasts coming from Iraqi tv of the P.O.W.s. Absolute disgrace that Iraq so blatantly flaunts Article 13 of the Geneva convention...

My thoughts and hopes go out to these five brave soldiers shown...

I saw him in tears in another interview, he didn't want to show the immages to be RESPECTFULL to the dead and their families...
