I've heard this morning that at least 5 american prisoners have been taken and some are wounded all have been shown on Iraqi tv.Along with 4 or 5 bodies of american soldiers,What will we do if these prisoners are killed or tortured!!!WE should not let this go unpunished!!!

Actually, there was about 10 dead soldiers, and 5 prisoners, including one female.
Donald Rumsfeld didn't want to comment on it. He said that it was part of the Iraqian propaganda to show these images, and he had no intention to respond to them. O_o If I was an american soldier right now, I would not be very happy to hear that. Apparently, caring about prisoners don't seem to be that important to him. |
CNN just showed 2 dead american bodies on their telecast I think it was in very poor taste and they should not be allowed to show pictures of our soldiers in this manner.Shame on you CNN !!!

I find it ironical that Rumsfeld is complaining that the prisoners are interviewed and photographed, while at the same time I can see pictures of Iraqi prisoners. |
The US media is subjected to strict rules about showing POWs. They cannot single them out, and are not suppose to clearly show their faces. You will not see them interviewed, or forced to say things against Iraq.
I haven't seen any pictures of dead Iraqis either. ;) |

Just got through watching on Russian TV the full broadcasts coming from Iraqi tv of the P.O.W.s. Absolute disgrace that Iraq so blatantly flaunts Article 13 of the Geneva convention...
My thoughts and hopes go out to these five brave soldiers shown... |
