I guess I have been spoiled by playing BGII first...in some respects that is. I notice that I can't pause the game and check character equipment reload arrows into slots - things like that - and have it be a 'safe' pause. I know, in 'real life' we don't get to pause in combat, but let me tell ya...in BGII you can! As you can 'rest until healed'...another feature I miss. I still enjoy the game tremendously, don't get me wrong. So, I guess that while assuming this isn't a bug...I just thought I would put it out here and see.

I haven't played BG2 that much, but I think the style in BG1 is the better one.

I agree with you about the style. I really *meant* that I had been spoiled and think that maybe it would have been better to NOT have that feature available. It will be good to unlearn this feature in preparation for replaying BGII and then TOB. I can only get better and better at this game.

If you play by yourself in multiplayer mode you can stay paused when going to the inventory.

Or shy..If there's more than 3 people in your party, just have yourself go to the back of the line, reload while the others are attacking, reload arrows, then escape..It works, that's what I do with my mage when he runs out of bullets. (And make sure the monsters aren't runnin after ya')
