I have never played an onling game before and have been avoiding it like the plegue but I figure if I want to continue playing games I will have to do it sometime.
My question is which one? I am leaning to Everquest2. Why should I play EQ instead of WoW or GW. I don't care much for RTS games. My favorite games are Jagged Alliance, X-Com, wizardry, Empire, wasteland, Fallout, notice a trend here! I'm a turn base junkie and am running out of material. I find myself Jonesing for a fix.

Go with Guild Wars first, as there is no fee. If you like GW, move to WoW. Those are the two to play I've heard.

Yeah Guild Wars will give you a taste of a MMORPG without the monthly fee.
If you like it you can stick with it or move onto WoW or EQ

Strategy fan Nightwing? Maybe?
![]() Pfft..these won't sate a strategy fix! Have you tried Silent Storm? It's got an engine like you'd expect Jagged Alliance 3 to have. There are some interesting mods and such out too, including a post-apocalyptic one that's not yet done. Besides, you know you want to stave off the online hordes a bit longer ![]() There are of course some tactically interesting battles when you adventure with others, and that's something I've heard from all three games. You can also find IW'ers to play with you if you play your cards right, though I'm not sure if I've read about anyone playing EQ2. Oh, and in EQ2's defense, I did hear something it had over the others - much more interesting production skills. I got bored of WoW's production real quick. I just liked the money it earned you. |

Nightwing,
I will add a plug for Guild Wars: It is focused on mental skill and strategy, rather than reaction time. Therefore, a slow trigger finger is not a detriment, if you can think through how your skills can oppose the enemy or achieve a synergystic effect with your team mates. GW is a rock-paper-scissors type of game. In addition, the skills you load onto your skill bar can be combined with other skills on your bar, or team mates' bars to create an effect that is significantly better than twice the effect of either skill alone. (You can only take 8 skills at a time out of the hundreds that can eventually be available to your character.) |

GW has more"asshole newbs" then WoW, which I find has a large population of "I don't know what I'm doing but I'm a nice guy newbs". Also, since WoW has a montly cost, there's a pre existing filter for pre teen "OMG HAXOR" types.
