I've made a heap of new topics lately, hope I don't get banned for trolling
![]() Right, I created a solo char who actually isn't dying much. It's a rawulf Rogue that kicks some serious butt right now. At least until I got to King Crab who bit the poor thing to pieces. I decided to wait before I went to King Crab so I'm training a bit. She's now got around 50 in dagger and dual weapons, 35 in stealth and a few other skills in the 40s. I still haven't leveled her up though, since I thought I'd ask you guys about development (learning by doing is all well and good, but when you've spent almost 4 hours training in the lower monastery.. well). I read somewhere that the monsters on Arnika Road are easier the lower level you are, so I figured that maybe I could get to Arnika without leveling up at all? I can't get past King Crab yet though, which is the main reason for the training. I'm also thinking Gregor could be a problem. My idea from the start was to just dual her over to Lord asap, but then I started entertaining the notion of adding a bit of bishop to the mix. The problem is that she's only got an intelligence of 30, so some points would have to go into that (I could always dual to Lord first and get the 5 extra points from the Trynton well too). As always, I humbly ask for your usually exceptional advice ![]() EDIT: Forgot to say she's only got 13 hps if it matters. [ 01-17-2004, 04:20 AM: Message edited by: Ragash ] |

One good solo guide which I was following until a certain incident I already mentioned occured recommends a faerie ninja which temporarily changes to a bishop. Go to http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/game/30661.html and view the solo fairy guide.

Yes, I've followed that too, but it feels a bit like cheating using that priest in the beginning killing him off later.. his skull stared at me accusingly
![]() I might as well update while I'm typing.. I killed the King Crab at last, but now Gregor is a major problem.. the SOAB is level 5 for chrissakes [ 01-17-2004, 12:12 PM: Message edited by: Ragash ] |

Crank your L&T and Stealth before you switch. Get your Stealth up and you prolly want some more HP before you get to Gregor. Just gotta be lucky and spawn some Seekers, they come every once in a while at L1, to get your Stealth. I recently finished a Lord solo with NO stealth, but i REALLY missed it.
Then , id prolly forget INT and stay Lord the whole time after that. HP regen and ability to wear and wield all the heavy stuff overcomes the lack of Element Shield. I'd prolly get me a Mace of some kind once i was a Lord, and Dual Sword and Mace. As Lord, STR2/DEX2/(VIT2 until 80, then SPD1/SEN1). You don't seem to mind practise, so there's no point in adding any PIE. |

Scatter, my hero
![]() ![]() Also, the L&T skill.. do I practice that in the bank vault or something? It seems appropriate somehow. And no, I don't mind training at all. I kind of like it, actually. Is this normal? Should I see a therapist perhaps? I've still got some free session vouchers from my Daggerfall obsession.. |

L&T: Gotta be a Rogue (or bard/gad/ninja) Easiest way to practise is on a chest--just keep hitting the magnifier to inspect. Save every so often, so you don't have to repeat a lot if you trip it. Which you'll do a lot until you get in the 20's. 60 or so should do, if you keep the Poseur's cap.
Seekers (L3 or L5) appear in hordes in the Lower Monastery, just not commonly until around Party L3. The only fixed seekers are in the UM, though. You can make it to Arnika at L1, but it might be more fun to enter Arnika Road at L1 then take all your levels so all the mobs are way below you. Works if you don't stay long enough for a respawn. |

Hehe, spending all the levels at once.. talk about an ambush
![]() Another reason for wanting to wait until I get to Arnika is the pickpocket training.. I want to switch to Lord at the lowest level possible, and after I switch I won't be able to get PP up.. unless I switch back to Rogue for a level later in the game of course. |
