Is it worth getting birthsigns that add your stats (warrior etc etc)? I know in morrowind it's not advisable. But in oblivion is it advisable? Or should I just take the ones that add mana?

Hell no! No no no no no! Never ever never use any skill/attribure bonus birthsign in an Elder Scrolls game. Ever.

Truth be told, I think the 10 point bonus given by The Thief is as powerful as any power. Luck is always the hardest skill to raise. Might as well start with a head start
![]() Still, the 200 point heal given by the Ritual isn't anything to scoff at... and the paralyze... Fine. I agree. Never choose a stat bonus. Unless it's luck ![]() |

Okay then, looks like my current character is okay. I chose the mage birthsign.
Other birthsigns seems useless to me as they have time limits like once per day. |

I chose The Thief for my character. I am regretting it now. In fact, I believe I will cheat-change it to something better, like The Mage, The Apprentice or even The Atronach. Luck isn't that hard to raise, actually. I believe you have to have +2 in all the others to have a +2 in luck, or something like that. Diversity is what brings up luck. Or so I've been told.

There's no skill that govern luck, so it impossible to have multiplier on luck. You'll only be able to raise them by 1 in every level up.
If the system hasn't been change from morrowind that is. |

It's the exact same. Hence the words, "Luck is always the hardest skill to raise..."
Still, I find some of the "Once a day" powers to be amazingly useful. Like the shadow. It gets me out of close calls right quick. For a Dark Elf, the lord's weakness to fire isn't much. It just gives them a free regenerating ability. What is really useful, probably the most, is the Lover. 10 seconds of having your opponent paralyzed is a godsend when you are about to get your butt kicked. It can mean the difference between life and death. Literally. |
