Spotted on the Typhoon forums that Chukk22 posted about update 2.

Update 2 should be up soon... been fixing some critical issues.

Notably fixing timing with Elderon and Morgus and the doors they pass through to keep them from getting stuck. Some machines experiencing specific framerates in those areas can cause problems with the timing. This has been fixed.

Also, the anomaly which sometimes causes the messenger at the Unholy Arc to not arrive has been fixed.

Other changes:

Helmet and other inventory bug fixes:

More spell availability functionality fixes.
Junk Inventory has been implemented (and new balancing economy wise based on that)

alot of other miscellaneous fixes....

Update 3 is planned to contain automap functionality and character customization.

These heavy issues have to be addressed all at once, as they create compatability issues with earlier savegames/multiplayer versions.

will try to keep you updated as I get more information...

Cool! I can't wait for the automap feature... I spent a lot of time trying to get to Skuldoon, and ended up in the fields of the dead. About the best thing I can say is... nice experience!

Due to that point and my control-freakish perfectionist style of playing, I'm going to wait for character customization to be fixed.

But it's cool to get a confirmation that they will be fixed. I was starting to think that maybe they'll stop patching it due to some problems(a la Bloodlines).

ya its actually bad news to me, it fixes bugs that im ready for and can get around with npcs and doesnt add a map.

i dont really care about the character look customization but that seems like it would be so easy to add but i could be wrong im not a programmer.

I hope they add good customization to all races and not just the human types. But anyways the automap is way more important to myself.

I want my map NOW!!!!

GAME BANSHEE
has a pretty decent walkthru going on - the maps are crude but the ones I have checked (like Fargrove) are useful (not pretty but USEFUL).

I found a nice outdoor map at this web site, whose name I don't even know. That map lists the locations of the important things... rather useful I found not knowing the lay of the land to be very difficult... I now travel almost exclusively by compass, paying attention to which way I'm pointing.

And yes, I'm looking forward to the automap!

I have the map that came with the game and the map you posted, Bungleau and a map I found somewhere of Fargrove which is awful - hard to tell where the streets are and not all the important buildings are marked.

Even with these maps, I use the compass a lot and still get muddled!

yes its because... the game is designed to try and get you lost. all of the paths going west snake and face east from time to time. I can remember when i was new to it going back and forth back and forth through the area on the way to arindale. Because arindale is of course on the path going EAST even though its west

North goes south. and then you get hit by 15 giant spiders and who knows what way youre facing after that is done. My favorite area is where 4 paths intersect into a huge lake and the shore for the south path is on the east.

Its a getting lost sort of game enjoy your getting lost time I finally am.

I guess we are all sounding like broken records here but I'm also in agreement here about the darned Automap. It sucks getting lost.
Good Fricken' News!!!
I have seen some info on the net (can't recall where, sorry) that the automap may be released with Patch 1.2
If anyone has any idea (besides what Chukk22 says in his post) when this sorry-assed late patch will be released, please update this topic.

As an afterthough, I did feel that not having the automap made the game much more challenging as well as made me craploads of EXP. I am near the end of the game now in the Maze of Irynthabl and I am up to LVL 36. Anyone want to compare for fun?
If anyone is interested, you may wish to use the following map printed up from this link. It really helped me navigate the game without a $@@!**%$! automap.

Good Day Eh'
