I just dug out my copy of M&M7. Decided I'd hack my way through it this time
and actually WIN. I can't find any form of support on the game and it looks like 3DO is no longer around for support. I had to download the latest 1.1 patch from another site. I was wondering if anyone here has ran M&M7 in WinXP? It was dumping me to desktop until I disabled D3D support. Was curious to know if anyone ever managed to get D3D to run in WinXP for this game. I'm using a GeForce3 with the latest Nvidia drivers. Just would like to get the "slightly" better textures if at all possible. Feel free to post any thoughts or ask me more questions.

Yes, mm7 doesn't seem to be compatible with winXP. you'll need the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 3.0 (29MB) from Microsoft website to get working the MM7. if you are on dialup might as well forget it.

i've not had any problem getting it to run in XP.

on your desktop shortcut, set your compatibility mode to Windows 95.

in your DXDIAG, go to your sound tab and turn your sound hardware acceleration all the way to the left. in other words, completely off.

this works for MM6, 7 and 8. at least, i have all 3 running great on my XP system now. there's a tad bit of sound stutter on 7 for some reason, but it's not very often. mostly when you open or close a door to a home or dungeon.

actually, i think flamestryke's pages are THE best for the M&M games, altho TELP's Taverns are great for help on 6,7 & 8.
