Ok im solo-ing my Bishop, doing the power casting route where one buffs mental and psionic power first, then alchemy and earth.

How though do i get an infinity helm onto his cranium?
Bishops cant normally wear it, ive tried starting off as a samurai which can wear the helm then changing to bishop, but then it fell right off...

or do the number of bishop levels have to exceed the number of lord levels?

or maybe i should do it another way?

one possible way would be to max out ones psionic/divine/alchemy realms, get al the spellbooks then switch to samurai.

any other suggestions?

huh? your current profession has to be lord valk sam fig or ran to wear infinity helm ... previous professions don't matter. you could make a lvl 18 bishop and switch to something, then you could have all spells. i think you have to be a little higher to be able to cast everything pwr7 on green ... not sure if you have to be bishop or if other magic using levels count. I'm not sure it's worth it, though. I have an elf bishop lvl 20+ with all magic 97+ and still can't cast evrything on green.

hmmm yes. just have to wait until higher to get full green on high level spells before swapping.

seems the ring of regeneration and the robes of rejuvination will have to suffice.

I've generally found that if you have Robe of Rejuv and Ring of Power, your SP's recover fast enough without the Helm. But i just love the things, so i usually end up changing my Bishops to a Hybrid, but i do it earlier if i do. Mostly around L11, after they got Portal, but they're still levelling fast enough to get back to improving magic skills again with enough game left to enjoy it.

It is possible to constantly be a hybryd, but only level up when you have two level ups at your disposal, then take the first one as bishop and the second as hybryd and then you would be able to wear the infinity helm always except for the few seconds when you are a bishop.

You need about 24 levels of any caster to be able to cast everything in green (in addition to the skills). With very high skills, level 23 might be enough. For Hybrids, only the 5th and higher levels count.

Just wanted to say that's pretty damned clever, it's giving me all sorts of ideas (Lord/Priests, Ninja/Alchs etc)! Never ceases to amaze me when people keep coming up with new ideas/discoveries about this game even now.

Yeah, that is a good tip, dplax. Plus if what somebody said about hit points is true, you get the warrior hp bonus to boot. Kind of impractical for 6 char parties, but for smaller groups, it's good.

Its a shame u cant keep using items from old classes.
Then i could start as a lord/samurai for one level then switch to bishop and still use the helm.

but alas...
