I tried a fight in continuous mode, thinking I could fight and move while I position myself.
Didn't work that way. May party was stuck and monsters moved at will. The combat was broken down into rounds still and when I selected the run icon, it just stayed at run pending and I never got to run. Why did that happen? Doesn't sound very continuous to me. |

Yeah I noticed that too...was hoping it worked the same as in the Might and Magic series...but evidently not.

quote: are you certain you're in continuous mode? with the run bar not starting, it sounds like regular mode, where you must hit the spacebar (or enter... whatever you have set for activating your round). or.... are the monsters blocking you in? i have found that i can't run on top of their backs. dang it. i thot i would get to squish rats and crabs that way, but it doesn't work. LOL. also, continuous mode will still be in rounds. this isn't real time. its always gonna be turn based, but continuous is for making stuff go faster when you're doing fairly easy fights or just wanna spice it up some. LOL! it has to be some form of turn based or else you couldn't give orders and switch weapons etc. i know it's not much help, and i hope you worked it out. let us know. V***V

I gave up on trying to figure it out. If continuous mode is nothing more than fast turns, what's the point, especially when there are very very few easy battles in this game.
I was certain I was in continuous mode because I click the 'go to continuous' icon. Bleh, I thought it would give real time since the game is already turn based, not just 'faster turns' just don't see the point. |

well, i haveta kinda sorta agree with you on that one. the only time i have found it helpful, is when i want to do straight fighting without constantly issuing orders to my peeps. altho, you can stop the play and still issue new instructions for players if you like.
the only thing i have ever really used it for is escaping, and i do it that so little (prefering to stick it out to the bitter end) that when i do, i usually muck it up. like one of my kitties (he's got a brain dysfunction) i tend to run backwards when i want to go forward or something equally lame! ::shakes her head:: i'll let you know if i find out any other uses for it!
