Thank you Memnoch for recommending Elaine Cunningham. It took me awhile and I never could find any of her books in hardback, but found 3 in paperback: Daughter of the Drow (which you recommended), Elfsong and The Floodgate. I almost finished with Daughter of the Drow and it is an excellent story. Can't wait to read the other ones.

Hi

There's also a sequel to Daughter of the Drow, called Tangled Webs. Although I'm not too fond of Elaine Cunningham's books, it's definately worth a read.

See ya

Thanks Larry. I haven't seen Evermeet. Is it a series or one book? Who's the author? Thanks Dominions, didn't know there was a sequel.

ok, let me give you a synopsis to get you interested. I have not yet finished, but it is one of the best books I have ever read. Elaine prides herself in the fact that she is the authority on writing novels on Elves. Her understanding of them is more than any other novelist. This book tells the entire freakin' history of the elves. I find myslef screaming in delight every couple of pages. It takes you back to the very beginning to establish some Elven Gods. Later, you see how the elves came to reside on Faerun. Later, you see Evermeet, the Island of Elves created. You see the very beginning of the Drow, and how Lloth came to be. Every new chapter is a new 1,000 years or something. She covers everything. Even the fabled Crown Wars, the Sundering, the Descension of the Drow into the Underdark, everything! I. Love. This. Book.
