I have all 3 books now, and started reading the 1st one. Has anyone else read these? Are they good? Do they tie in to the Avatar Trilogy well?
I wanted to know more about the "Time of Troubles". I just want to know if it's a good read.. I also have a bunch of others, but I have cut a LARGE chunk out of my pile of books I bought! ![]() Anyone read Tymora's Luck? Spellfire? What about the Arcane Age books? I have 1 and 3, missing 2.. ![]() ------------------ Ziroc Ironworks Webmaster www.tgeweb.com/ironworks |

Hi Ziroc
Haven't read Shadow of the Avatar Trilogy, although I have read Spellfire - not too bad for an Ed Greenwood book, but not one of the best out there. Have you read the Azure Bonds trilogy? Now that was a good set of books! Includes Azure Bonds, Wyvern's Spur, and Song of the Saurials. ------------------ Hey! Like RPGs? Ziroc, despite everyone else's opinion, I loved the Shadow of the Avatar Trilogy. There are two young Harpers that really are great comic reliefs! They make some crazy jokes throughout the entire series.
You even get to see Elminster kiss a Lich! There is another girl in there that is increadible in her fighting skills. She is a Knight of Myth Drannor. Great girl! And of course the information on the Shadow dwelling beings is invaluable. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did. ------------------ ![]() Devoted member of the Ironworks Loyal guardian of the OHF Member of the Ancients' club Witness of the 4,000th post by Cloudposter Currently engaged in the Throne of Bhaal expansion set |

The recurring theme that I *really* hate about Ed's "books" (again I'm using this noun very loosely) is that for the female characters, clothing is optional! How can you take them seriously after that? Shandril Shessair is a perfect example. And he's not even good at writing sex scenes. I'd suggest he leave those to the Harlequin Romance people who at least know their target market.

![]() It does have an interesting story concept, I must admit. The Malaugrym sound cool, if overpowered and munchkinny (yet again). ------------------ ![]() |

You do make very good points, Memny.
You are right about his writing style, but take that crap out and it is a decent story. I read them with great ernest. ------------------ ![]() Devoted member of the Ironworks Loyal guardian of the OHF Member of the Ancients' club Witness of the 4,000th post by Cloudposter Currently engaged in the Throne of Bhaal expansion set |

Even though I have all three books I have yet to read them. I've been reading the Avatar Trilogy. Those are pretty good books to read. I'll read the SAT when I am done with those
