I finally got to chapter three and I bought a +3 sword (I think I read in another post about adamantine that you needed a +3 sword and adamantine) and I found the smithy, but he says that I don't have anything he could make into a magical sword. Do I need something else? [img]graemlins/confused2.gif[/img]

The type of sword and component are very specific. I think the Dwarf gives you a book (Barun's Catalog Of Weapons And Armor Modifications) which lists all the combinations. Below is a list of just the sword combos:
Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You need a Magic Great Sword and Admantite to make a Harbinger Great Sword, A Magic Katana and Admantite to make a Sword Saint Katana, and A Magic Scimitar and Admantite to make a Desert Wind Scimitar. Otherwise: A Magic Longsword and a Diamond to make an Astral Blade Longsword, A Magic Rapier and Dragon Blood to make a Namarra Rapier, A Magic Shortsword and Faerie Dust to make a Feyduster Shortsword, and A Magic Two-Bladed Sword and Ironwood to make an Uthgardt Two-Bladed Sword. For +3 whatever magic item (think you wanted desert wind, so scimetar) you only need +1 magical weapon and a component(adamantine). In Chap 1, you get +1 items, and in chap 3 you get better items for the same combinations.
