confused, in tomb of hero's I think

I have cleared the asylum of Scabban, jumped into the water, swam through the underwater passage. This brings me into the tomb of hero's I beleive. The only probelm with this is that according to all the strategy guides and checking past messages on board everything point to the fact that there is supposed to be a gate with keys buy it and a lever. I know where that is inside the crypt but I can't seam to find it any where in the waters. I figure if I try to go back into the crypt that I will still be on the wrong side of gate. Were is this gate located after swiming through underwater passage am I completly in the wrong area of the map? Help I have been serching for the answer for 2 days and I know it should be right in front of me.

You will know if you are inthe tomb of heroes if you can swim around a 4-sided "circle" with closed crypts at each side...the narrator will tell you that this or that plaque reads "The Tomb of So & So".
On the east or right side of your map, there should be two short paths leading away from the tombs but that are blocked by gates. There are levers on the walls in each path to open that gate and on the floor just in front of one of the gates (from the tomb of heroes side) is the gold key you ned to open the tombs.
I forget the detail of getting there from Scabbans room, however I remember having to pull a lever there (in Scabban's room) to open the way and having to swim a short distance through a tunnel once I had made it down far enough from Scabban's.

I am sorry moni but I still do not see the gates I do see the two short paths you are talking about but they lead to brick walls. Is this some sort of flaw in my game or am I just being stupid?

Actualy I don't know if I am in the correct water or not. The two paths that I do see are both heading to the north of my map, not the east as you had explained. When I jumped from the asylum into the water I ended up in the same water channel that I had been in before arriving at the asylum is this correct. If it is then I still am back to square one not being able to fing tomb of heros and the gates with the keys and lever.

No, if you are still in the asylum, youhave not made it to the tombs. : (
If you pulled the lever in scabbans room before you jumped, there should have been another opening in the floor or wall of where you ended up (I think).
If you can make it back to scabbans room, jump again and swim down as far as you possibly can. (providing you pulled the lever in his room first) Once you swim down as far as you can, look around for a tunnel & swim through it...that will lead you to a small room with a hole in the wall and that hole will allow you to enter the area of the tombs of heroes.

Thanks for pulling that info up for me it should be a big help. Come to find out I realy did not kill Scaban and there is more to the asylum to be uncovered. The lever that I was pulling had nothing to do with getting into the tomb of heros obviously. Thanks again

Ack! The search option yeilded no help in finding that one post!
I did manage to bring up Xignal76's thread "Graphic Walkthrough for crypt...." and moved it up to the top of this page (should be under this thread now, lol)
I checked the walkthrough and it gives no explicit directions but does show some graphics of key areas with the exception of the area between Scabban's room and the tomb of heroes! (Another ACK!)
Where Activision & Wizards & warriors is started through your start/programs options on your desktop...there is an online help file that contains a walkthrough for the crypt area but I forget if it continues through the asylum....check there too and see if that is of any help.
Xignal's walkthrough should at least show you where you are and where you need to be (lower level map is tomb of heroes map) and if worse comes to worse in getting through here, post a new thread titled "Wyv! I need help!" and she will explain it all in detail for you as I uninstalled my game after I beat it and can't go back quick enough to help you figure this out.
