I have recently started playing IWD (with the expansion installed plus the Trials add-on). I have a couple of questions (apologies if they've been asked before).
(1) I have an elf fighter/mage, both classes at level 3. I used 2 of the initial weapon proficiency points in bows. On reaching level 3 for the fighter, I received an extra weapon proficiency point. However, I tried to put the point in bows, to take me to Master level, but the game wouldn't let me. I had thought that multi-class fighters could achieve more than Specialist in weapons? (2) I noticed in the tables at the back of the manuals for IWD and HOW that it says "Bonuses to hit points for a high constitution no longer apply". Is this so? Thanks in advance. |

Welcome to the forum.
Only single class fighters can go beyond level 2 weapon specialization, (not Paladins or Rangers). The hit point thing refers to the point when characters are no longer rolling dice for extra hit points, around 9th or 10th level. At this time they only receive the stated extra (+1,+2 etc), with no constitution bonus. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. You said that only single-class fighters can go beyond Specialist. Suppose I have a human fighter and take him to level 9 with a Grand-mastery in maces. Does this mean that if I then dual-class to a cleric and reach Level 10, that the three extra weapon proficiency points in maces will not take effect?

He will keep whatever proficiencies he/she has already aquired but will be restricted in new ones according to the second class.

quote: I believe that he will also not have access to his grand mastery until his cleric level is higher than his fighter level.
