Thought I would share a tactic I have been using in fights against boss-type monsters. Hasn't failed me yet so far.

For this tactic, you need two Sorcerers/Mages.

I call it the Chain Contingency Bomb, but you can call it whatever you like.

Before a tough fight, prepare the following.

One Mage will have a Spell Trigger, containing 3 Lower Resist. By Throne of Bhaal, this roughly translate to -90% Magic Resistance to the target, effectively making him/her/it no longer immune to magic.

The other Mage will have a Spell Sequencer containing Greater Malison and anything else, we just want the Greater Malison, and in Throne of Bhaal, Greater Malison no longer stacks, so one is enough.

Both Mages will have Chain Contingencies containing 3 Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting, condition set to trigger when enemy sighted and target is nearest enemy.

Enter the battle,

Step 1: Fire the Spell Trigger and the Spell Sequencer together immediatedly.

Step 2: Wait for the Chain Contingencies to trigger, may take 1 round.

Master Wraiths, Dragons, Draconis, Abigazal, Demons, etc... ... all fell within 2 rounds.

The great thing is, if you rest after setting the Chain Contingency, you can set up another one immediatedly after the first one triggers. No casting time needed! Just wait for the first one to hit the target, and you can set another one for the next round. Though in most cases, that is not necessary.

Only Demi-Liches and Mages who cast Protection from Magical Energy can resist this insane brutal assault. 6 Abi-Dalzim's HW can just about kill anything.

In other news, some of you may recall I made a thread asking for spells for my Sorcerer. I learnt something, Death Spell rocks! And Wish was a huge, huge disappointment... ... some people say it enables you to rest without sleeping, but the chances of getting it is very, veryyyy... low, even with 25 Wisdom... ...

I also noted because of the above tactic, I rarely used my Lvl 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 spells. Besides Greater Malison and Lower Resist that is. Most battles become the following scenerio, "I bomb you!", and leftovers get cleaned up by my Planetar.

If not a Sorcerer, then a Paladin.

Well i think that the "Hard" and "tough" fights in the funniest ones. i am almost a little sad when the Enemy falls to the ground caused of the brutal magics flying through the air...sometimes i even reload and play the fight again just for the fun of it..
