help with The Cave of the Dead in Amkethran

I'm a little confused... there's a door in The Cave of the Dead, which it says can only be opened with a specific key. But I can't find the key anywhere - I've tried killing the Lich, Vongoethe, but he didn't drop any key when he died. I've also killed all the monsters that appear when you turn the four tables around, but nothing. There seems to be no crate or chest in the cave to search in... I'm clueless as to where to get the key.
I've been thinking that maybe I'll come across it some time later, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to return to the cave (if the monks seal it again).
Anyone got a clue for me? And please, if the key is to be found later down the road, don't tell me where and when. All I'm interested in now, is to know, if the key is supposed to be found during the 'save Malla's soul' quest...

u should have chosen to disguise urself to enter the monastery as it is fastre, safer and wont fight much enemies. as for the cave of the dead i think u should talk to saemon abt it

I was stuck there, too. The key doesn't show up after saving Malla, either. BTW- you do know that if you press the tab key while the pointer on the screen is off any character, but on the viewable area, that all goodies, doors, etc. will be highlighted?
