This has probably been answered a few times before, but:

When creating a multi-class character (I'm thinking F/M), can you choose a kit? If so, how? I couldn't find it on the character creation screen.

Thanks to all.

Thanks. That's a bummer, I don't want to stop advancing in the first class. I wanted to create a Kensai/Mage. If I dual-class, any suggestions as to which should come first and at what level I should dual?

most of the people like to make a kensai first, then dual it to a mage later.usually they dual it on level 9 or 12.that is if u want to make a mage with some improvements in its fighters ability, but if u want to make a fighter with some mage improvements, try using,IIRC, a blade.

9 or 13, not 12.

for a bigger party + 5 people, probably dual at lvl 9, for a smaller party -3, probably at lvl 13 (can level up faster).

btw, if you have ToB installed, in higher levels multi-class F/M can have great advantage because of two types of neat HLAs.

Even more so for a F/M/T!

The only multi-classed kit combo you can legally make is a gnome thief/illusionist. Furthermore, you can use SK to make illegal multi-class kit combo's.

As exciting as taking an illusionist through the game might be, I'll pass for now and stick with my idea for a kensai/mage. While we're on this topic, what are people's thoughts about dualling a kensai to a mage versus dualling a monk to a mage (assuming that the latter is possible)?
