Playing as a Skald...

Just wondering, I am starting a new game as a Skald, and I wanted to know what items I should get? Never having played as a Bard before, and a little reluctant to play as a class that cannot wear plate armor, I nonetheless found this class seemingly interesting and chose it for my new game. I want to be able to play him well though, and I need to know what are some good weapons/armor/etc for a Bard to use. Spoil me .

Well Ring of Protection,Elven ChainMail,Boots of Speed...

I suggest you summon monsters and act as a backup Mage and sometimes a Fighter(Tenser`s Transformation does wonders).

The Skald's biggest advantage is his powerful Song.
In order to make the best of it, you need warriors. The more fighters in your party - the merrier.
The Song also affects summons - so filling your slots with Spider Spawn and Animate Dead (once your level is 15) is a good idea.
Your Mislead Decoy can also sing - and the effects stacks, so memorizing Mislead is mandatory.

Alright, thanks a lot. For my party, I'm thinking about going with:

Me (Skald)
Minsc
Keldorn
Jaheira
Anomen
Jan

Minsc, Keldorn, and Anomen I'll use as tanks (Anomen with dual maces woohoo!), and have Jan use X-bow and Jaheira use Slingshot and be a backup tank, just in case . And of course, I will use myself as a tank and spellcaster, along with Jan. Any suggestions for armor I can wear while still allowing me to use my spells?

You get one in Planar Prison and one at Nizidramanii'yt aka Black Dragon in Sundenesellar.

*Sigh*, is there any other that I can get earlier? Oh, and in the planar prison, is that with Valygar's quest or with the troupe, ermm... I forget the person's name, the one that you get from Quayle?

It is the one in the Five Flagons, yes, which you get from either Haer'Dalis or Quayle.

Also, Lord Alibakkar in Trademeet carries an Elven chain mail. You can kill him for it, if you want.

Valygar`s quest is Planer Sphere not Prison

Of course you can get it earlier. You can get one if you side with *other* person in Chapter three or in Trademeet. Lord Alibakkar gives you one. [img]smile.gif[/img]

What do I have to do to get the Lord to give me one? And how do I get one from the *other* person if i side with the *other* person? Unless you'd rather not say. But I want to be spoiled .
